The words “bound” and “immobile” make people with physical disabilities seem passive, as if they’re unable to leave their own house or do anything. But that isn’t the case – wheelchair-users are free to decide where they want to go. So if we feel like we should mention their disability for some reason, it’s best to do it using neutral and precise terms.
