Use
Peoples of the Caucasus
Avoid
Khack, Khachik, Caucausian national
The words “Khach” or “khachik” are just as offensive as “Zhyd” in relation to a Jew or “Khokhol” to a Ukrainian.
“Caucasian national” is an incorrect term because there is no such nationality as Caucasian. Dozens of different peoples live in the Caucasus region, and each of them has their own language, cultural specifica, religions and traditions, etc.
If it is necessary to specify a person’s background, it is best to name specific nationalities: “Armenian”, “Georgian”, “Azerbaijani” or “native of Armenia / Georgia / Azerbaijan”, etc.
