Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine Day
This day has been celebrated in Ukraine as a national holiday since October 14, 2014. However, only in July 2021 the feminitive “defenderess” was added to the title, emphasizing finally that not only men but also women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They equally defend our country from the external enemy. Therefore, this day is an occasion to celebrate the contribution that defenders of both genders make to our homeland’s security.
