Day of Resistance to the Occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol

On February 26, 2014, the largest meeting in support of the integrity and unity of Ukraine took place in Simferopol. Crimean Tatars and representatives of different nationalities took part in the rally, defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine and protesting against the military intervention in Crimea. To honor the courage and heroism of Ukrainian citizens living in the temporarily occupied territory (the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol), a decree was signed to establish February 26th as the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
