On the 14th of December, 2006, the building of the sarcophagus over the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant was completed. Since then, December 14th is the day when we honor the people who eliminated the consequences of the tragic Chornobyl disaster. You can join events in honor of the liquidators of the Chornobyl accident, lay flowers at the memorials to the victims, or light a candle in memory of the memory.
